Abstract: The study of remittances in Mosul at the end of the Ottoman
reign through records of the Shari’a court is a topic of considerable
importance, which has not received sufficient attention from historians
and specialized researchers. The records of the Shari’a court represent the main source for social and economic history of Mosul. This research is an attempt to clarify the nature of that remittances. We also found an extensions or expansion in remittance functions, and we will explain this expansion.
