Relationship of the Formation of Ego Identity with the Psychological Harmony for the Secondary School Students in Mosul City
الملخص
The study aims at recognizing the level of psychological and social harmony ,its sources for the secondary school students in Mosul city and its relationship with the level of forming ego identity in addition to recognize the results of the assumptions prepared by the researcher to be examined including the extent of the presence of statistical significance among the crude degrees of the classes of the ideological and social ego identity and the total ego (achievement , suspension , lock and dispersion) and the crude degrees of the psychological harmony with its psychological, social and general dimensions . The researcher has adopted the analytical descriptive approach . The sample includes (400) students of both sexes represented by (200) students of both sexes from first and second intermediate classes and (200) students of both sexes from fourth and fifth secondary classes . The researcher has used two scales ; the first ,prepared previously , to measure ego identity and the second , prepared by the researcher , to measure the psychological and social harmony .Validity and reliability of both tools have been verified . The study has concluded with some results including : The level of psychological and social harmony for the students is (216,3150) which represents a high rate compared to the assumptive mean which is (180) , and the average of the level of forming ego identity for them is (219,482) which represents a low rate compared to the assumptive medium (224). That refers to the sample does not enjoy possessing the ability of forming ego identity compared to the assumptive medium.- The study shows that the values of correlation coefficients of the relationship between the classes of the ideological ego identity and the psychological and social harmony are different and statistically significant.

The study has recommended the necessity for the educational establishments and teachers to direct and guide to form guiding programs to increase the students’ consciousness and assist them to find and achieve their identities.
