Author Guide
The following is an Author Guide for publishing in Mosul Studies Centre's journal (Dirassat Mosuliya) via its website on the Internet. So, author should adhere to the following rules and regulations:-
Rules and Regulations:
1-Who want to publish in the journal must register at the journal's website by using his/her valid e-mail at the following link:- https://moss.mosuljournals.com/
2-When you register at the journal's website for the first time, the journal's website will automatically send to you an e-mail to your e-mail address (the e-mail address which you have registered with) contains username (your e-mail address) and password. Afterwards, you can login at the following link:
https://moss.mosuljournals.com/contacts/
3-When logged in successfully, you will immediately be given author's privileges, and thus you can easily submit your manuscript via the journal's website to the Editorial Board by pursuing certain steps.
4-The manuscript must be written according to terms and conditions of the journal as follows:-
1-Manuscript must submit to the person responsible for checking the manuscripts to find if there is plagiarism exceeding 20%.
2-The Editorial Board forwards the manuscript to two experts who famous for their scientific sobriety to assess the manuscript. But, the Editorial Board forwards the manuscript to third reviewer in the event of refusing the manuscript by one of the above-mentioned experts.
3-The author must submit information about the following:
1- The author must send his/her manuscript without writing his name (the author's name).
2- The title of the manuscript must be written in Arabic and English.
3- After the research paper title, the author must write his / her academic rank and an academic institution, which he /she works in such as a university, college, department, country.
4- The abstract of the manuscript must be within (100-350) words and written in short and clear sentences.
5- Keywords must be written immediately after the abstract in no more than (6) words.
Scientific terms of writing a manuscript:
1-Author must define the research problem.
2- Author must pay attention to the formulation of questionnaires or hypotheses which related to the research problem.
3- Author must identify the importance of his/her research paper and clarify his/her goals and endeavour to realize them.
4- Author must limit clearly and scrupulously the scope of his/her research paper.
5- Author must pay attention to apply the most suitable research method on his research paper, and the tools of gathering the research materials, which related to his/her research paper.
6- Author must pay attention to the layout and structure of his/her research paper, in addition to putting his/her ideas in a scientific and logical manner
7- Author must choose the resources from which he/she obtains his/her information. He/she must pay attention to the matter of their modernity and be careful in arranging them with a scientific accuracy.
8- Author must write down his/her findings, which he/she has reached, and make sure their related to his/her questionnaires or hypotheses.
9- Author must be aware of the fact that the reviewers' decisions regarding his/her manuscript depended on prearranged detailed judgement forms.
Research work
Research work can be defined as a study which should be planned in systematic manner in advance by pinning down the case under consideration and choosing the proper research method. Research work can also be defined as perused measures to profound and develop understanding and knowledge because it increases the level of the scientific thinking, understanding, clarifying exegeses and help in discovering what is logic. Researcher by using the research work can coming up many new questions.
Aims of the Research Work:
1-Description: some research papers are endeavouring to achieve descriptive aims such as bringing to light new facts or describe a certain situation and this aim achieved by gathering information about certain topic.
2-Exegese: By using exegeses, the researcher giving a detailed explanation of a phenomenon under consideration and spelling out reasons which lead to occur that phenomenon.
3- Correction: The correction stage devotes to correct the research paper.
4- Refutation or Disproof: in this stage the researcher takes decisions regarding his/her findings if they are true or false.
5-Ascertainment:this process is to study many research papers which conducted by researchers in the past and clarify whether those research papers are true or false.
The Importance of the research work for the researcher:
1- Scientific research work opens new horizons for a researcher and this lead to better off his/her intellectual, cultural and social skills.
2- It affords an opportunity for a researcher to gain high scientific degrees.
3- It enables a researcher to work in groups and makes use of experiences of those groups in writing his/her research paper.
4- It gives a chance for a researcher and other researcher who work in the same area to share their research papers with each other.
5- It develops the researcher's skills in the field of research work and boosts his/her critical thinking.
Ethics of the Scientific Research
Ethics of the scientific research is principles, values, duties and commitments which researcher should adhere to.
Principles of the Scientific Research:
Research work is varied much in its nature and deals with different topics. Ways of the scientific research are also diverse. So, there are several general principles which author should be adhering to as follows:
1-Be patient and avoid nervousness: researcher during his/her work facing a lot of difficulties and obstacles. Thus, researcher should be patient and avoid bad emotions which affect the research findings. He also should determine strengths and avoid weaknesses.
2-Fearity and Objectivity: Researcher should be unbiased, neutral and avoid omitting some facts that against his desires and ideas. He/she should also avoid his/her personal caprices.
3- Eligibility for research work: Researcher should be eligible for conducting a research paper, and avoid embroiling in conducting researches in other sciences which he/she does not master them.
4- Professionalism: Researcher should give his/her research work enough time and study. He should also not deals with the research work as a Hobbyist.
5-Accuracy: Accuracy has a profound effect on the findings of the research work.
6-Scientific integrity: integrity is vital during gathering information and analysis that information, in addition to avoid plagiarism as much as possible.
7-Moderate and avoid ostentatiousness: Ostentatiousness is bad habit a researcher should sidestep it. He should be humble and accepts criticisms.
