Transparency principles

  1. Double review mechanism: Researches in the DM are subject to double evaluation in a secret bilateral manner. The meaning is that the researcher does not know the resident just as the assessor has no knowledge of the researcher. The Journal is issued in three issues each year in print and electronic format and is concerned with all aspects of Mosul’s cultural and heritage history in different eras Islamic, modern and contemporary, which are explained on the Journal’s website  https://moss.mosuljournals.com
  2.  The editorial board: a DM has an editorial board, whose members are recognized experts in the fields of topics included in the journal’s scope. The full names and affiliates of the journal editors are provided on the journal's website https://moss.mosuljournals.com
  3.  Contact information: The DM provides contact information for the journal’s editorial body through the link https://moss.mosuljournals.com
  4.  Research publication fees: The journal is within the fully open journals and the full text of the published research can be accessed to everyone through the journal’s website and free of charge. Besides, the authors are obligated to pay the research publication fee for papers accepted for publication and according to the contexts set by the journal.
  5.  Copyright: The Journal clarified the type of copyright under which the authors’ works will be published. Upon acceptance of the paper, the author is required to complete a "Journal Publication Agreement".
  6.  Identifying and Dealing with Allegations of Research Misconduct: The Editor-in-Chief shall take reasonable steps to identify and prevent publication of papers in which research misconduct has occurred, including plagiarism, citation manipulation, and data falsification/fabrication, among others.

Violation of publishing ethics

  1.  Plagiarism: that a person intentionally uses another person’s ideas or other original materials as if they were his ideas, even if it was a sentence used by the same researcher, and he published it in other journals without an appropriate quote, which DM considers plagiarism. All papers submitted to the DM are subject to examination using the plagiarism program to avoid plagiarism. Thus, plagiarism is a serious violation of publishing ethics. Trunitin is used by iParadigms, known in the academic community as Turnitin Providers. For a searchable list of all journals in the Cross Check database, please visit: https://www.turnitin.com
  2. Data fabrication and falsification: which means that the researcher did not actually carry out the study, but rather formed data or results and recorded or fabricated the fabricated information. Data falsification means that the researcher performed an experiment, but processed, changed or deleted data or results from other search results.
  3.  Concurrent Submission: Concurrent submission occurs when a paper (or large sections of a paper) is submitted to a journal when it is already being studied by another journal.
  4.  Duplicate publication: Duplicate publication occurs when two or more papers share, without full reference, essentially the same hypotheses, data, discussion points and conclusions.
  5.  Redundant publications: Duplicate publications include the inappropriate division of study results into several articles, often as a result of a desire to inflate the academic biography.
  6.  Inappropriate contribution or attribution to the author: The author must have made an important scientific contribution to the research.
  7.  Citation manipulation: Citation manipulation includes excessive quotations, in the presented research, that do not contribute to the scientific content of the article and are included solely for the purpose of increasing citations from the work of a particular author, or in articles published specifically for the journal. This leads to a distortion of the importance of the work and the specific journal in which it appears, and therefore it is a form of scientific misconduct.

  1. Penalties: In the event that there are documented violations of any of the above-mentioned policies in any journal, regardless of whether the violations occurred in a journal or not, the following penalties will be applied:
  2. Immediate rejection of the infringing search.
  3. Immediate rejection of every other research submitted to any journal published by any of the authors of the infringing research.
  4. A ban shall be imposed for a period of no less than 36 months on all authors of any new submissions to any journal, either individually or jointly with other authors of dissenting papers.

  1.  Banning all authors from working in the editorial board of any.
  2. Dealing with cases of misbehavior

Once the DM identifies any violation of the journal’s publishing ethics, the following procedures are followed:

1- The editor of the journal shall inform the editorial board of the DM by providing copies of the relevant materials and a draft letter to the corresponding author for a request for clarification in a non-judicial manner.

2- If the author’s explanation is not acceptable and it appears that serious unethical behavior has occurred, the matter is referred to the publishing committee through the editorial board. After deliberation
